The Doctor

George P. Chambers, Jr.

I established this medical practice as a way of honouring my heroes, the women who have guided and played a pivotal role in my life. From my late great grandmother who taught me integrity and the importance of keeping one’s word, to my grandmother who taught me perseverance and the value of hard work, to my mother who taught me compassion, loyalty, love and persistence, to my sister who taught me the true meaning of the word courage. I must also mention, the late Nina Roscher, Ph.D. (former chair of the Department of Chemistry at American University in Washington, D.C.) who believed in my academic potential and afforded me many opportunities that launched me on a path to ultimately achieving my career goal to become a physician. Some of the aforementioned women are survivors of breast and uterine cancers as well as domestic violence. Through their influence, I ultimately realized that my destiny was to dedicate my professional life to the service of women’s health.

Chambers & Associates OBGYN and Gynecological Surgery, PLLC was founded to provide the same competent, compassionate, reliable, safe and evidence-based care that we would want for members of our own families. The founder and medical director, Dr. George P. Chambers, Jr., practices the full scope of general obstetrics and gynecology. He also offers labiaplasty and vaginal rejuvenation. Furthermore, he is the only board certified obstetrician and gynecologist in Nevada who is also certified in sexual health medicine.

As a gynecological surgeon who was raised and positively influenced by women, Dr. Chambers recognizes that all women want to look and feel beautiful. So, he offers minimally invasive gynecological surgeries, such as laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy, vaginal hysterectomy and cosmetically-pleasing Cesarean section incisions. When appropriate, his primary Cesarean section incisions are made below the pubic hairline and are closed normally with sutures, not staples. Dr. Chambers does not practice assembly-line medicine, he actually sits, listens to and hears his patients.

It is true that it is hard to get an appointment with Dr. Chambers and that the wait times are long. It can be frustrating to say the least....BUT - I came to Dr. Chambers with a whole host of problems. I'm a few years out from cervical cancer but still suffered with debilitating pain every month a few days before and during my cycle. I have visited **16** obgyn's before Dr. Chambers and have had to endure countless invasive procedures, medications, surgeries, being told it was in my head, being belittled and shamed by obgyn's, having my husband be asked IN FRONT OF ME if I was name it. Dr. Chambers listened and took me seriously. No other Dr had. Turns out I had undiagnosed PID for 22 YEARS. He also looked at my hormone levels and found I was seriously lacking some of them. He was not afraid to ask me questions about my libido and how my sexual functioning was, which was a relief and made me feel finally heard and validated. Dr. Chambers cured my PID and got my hormones back in check. He gave me more than that though. I suffered through so much pain for so long I forgot what it felt like to be normal; to not have to have my life revolve around a week or two a month of pain, to fear every month as that time neared, to fear the cancer might return He gave me life back. So, yes I get frustrated that he is hard to get an appointment with and has to reschedule frequently, but it's a small price to pay for a doctor that takes my ENTIRE reproductive health seriously.
